I began working in Tower
Hamlets in 1982 and moved here over 25 years ago. I started a
women’s network from the Bromley-by-Bow centre to help support
women who have become isolated. Over the years the network has
grown and I am now working with around 200 women across Tower
Hamlets. I want to use my experience I have gained to bring a
positive change to the council. I want to ensure that women in the
borough are not only represented, but also have a powerful voice in
the town hall.

I moved to Tower Hamlets
5 years ago and have been active in the community ever since,
working closely with the Labour councillors. As a Governor at a
school in Bethnal Green, as vice-chair and chair of finance, I have
a particular interest in education in the borough. In addition to
this voluntary work, as a consultant, I advise businesses and
charities about their communications with both local and national
Government. As your councillor, I will be looking to use this
experience to ensure that the views of local residents are well
represented when the council is formulating policy.
