Anna
Lynch
I have lived in Tower
Hamlets for nearly 10 years, and work as a nurse and a ward Sister
at The Royal London Hospital. I have lived on Columbia Road for 7
years and I am a Community Governor for Columbia Road Primary
School. Through my work at our local hospitals I have a good
understanding of the needs of our community. I am passionate about
providing equal access to health care and ensuring that our
surrounding community is safe and free of anti-social behaviour. I
am particularly proud of our teams Stop the Tower Campaign in 2006
which prevented a 23 storey building being built on the Mildmay
Hospital site.

I have
lived in Weavers ward for many years and have been involved in a
number of initiatives supporting local people in the borough. I
currently work with drug abusers within our Council’s Criminal
Justice Team, in partnership with the Police and Court services.
This along with my commitment to the local community as a school
governor at Bethnal Green Technology College, means I care deeply
about preventing anti social behaviour in our
community. I have
also worked in professional research, have lectured at a number of
universities and have appeared on various television channels
addressing social problems. I believe this experience and my
enthusiasm will help me represent and work for the interests of our
local residents.

I was brought up, educated and
have worked in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for my whole
life. I currently served as a non executive Director of
Spitalfields Housing Association, Chairperson of Boundary Community
School and the Sports Network Council and am an elected governor
for both St Matthias CE Primary School and Thomas Buxton Junior
School. With my experience, along with being a youth and community
worker for the past 19 years for the council, I am committed to
working with our community to create an environment of racial
tolerance for our local community. Above all I want to continue to
work with young people, provide advice and help our residents
towards a more positive future.
