Mile End East, St Paul's school

Rachael Saunders 

 

Councillor Rachael Saunders

 

Rachael lives with her husband and works as a trade union officer.  She was elected to represent Mile End East as a councillor in November 2008.  Since then she has taken on a number of challenges, including standing up for local people as a member of the East End Homes Board, becoming the Chief Whip of the Labour Group and winning investment in the area, including a new Children’s Centre soon to open on Joseph St.  She chairs a local youth forum that brings youth providers together and will sit on the new board of St Paul’s Way school. Rachael cares about her local community will continue to work hard to make a positive difference to the area.

Kosru Uddin

 

Kosru lives with his wife and family just off Burdett road and works at the Poplar Job Centre helping local people into employment. By being a local resident, Kosru cares about improving his local area and is focused on improving youth provisions to ensure that our children and young people have a place to go. He also wants to see significant reductions in crime and anti social behaviour, so that we can see real positive changes to our local community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Motin 2010

 

 

Councillor Motin Uz-Zaman

 

Motin grew up in the area and has been a councillor in Tower Hamlets since 1998.  He works for Barts and Royal London NHS Trust and as such cares and understands about the difficulties faced by our residents on healthcare issues.  Motin also chairs the Local Area Partnership, where health providers, the police, youth groups and others come together to work on priorities set by residents. As a lead member for crime and the environment, Motin was also instrumental in introducing the Safer Neighborhood Teams for our community, and has worked hard to reduce antisocial behavior, improve road safety, and as a governor of a local school cares about the education and development of young people.
