Victoria Park is to play an important role in the 2012 Olympics thanks to an on-going campaign by Tower Hamlets Council.
The Olympic Delivery Authority’s (ODA) draft transport plan, which is currently out to consultation, now makes Victoria Park the venue for the Olympic Walking events - this is likely to be the only free Olympic sports event.
It is hoped that Victoria Park will also be the venue for the Olympics Party in the Park.
