Councillor Rofique
Ahmed
Rofique is a trusted member
of our community and works hard for its residents. He has been a
lead member in the council for Culture and Leisure since 2008,
playing a key role in determining Tower Hamlets’ involvement in the
upcoming Olympic Games. He cares passionately about our community
and helped to set up the popular free swimming for under 16’s and
60+ for 7 days a week, free swim Fridays for all and free swim
Saturdays for families across the borough. Also, for the young people of our
ward, Rofique was instrumental in helping to increase school
clothing grants. Above all, Rofique will continue to make sure that
the resident’s voices are heard in the council and that the
council’s voice is heard across London.

crime and ensuring families in the ward are better housed.
He chairs the Local
Area Partnership, is a member of the governing body at
Morpeth School and
continues to support the Stairway to Heaven Memorial Trust.
Bill has worked hard to
ensure the Council has a robust response to dangerous dogs in the
ward – and helped secured £150,000 investment in Animal Wardens for
this purpose. Overall, Bill loves helping the diverse community of
the 'patch' and will continue to work hard for the future of our
area.
